    General Engine Misfire

I dunno; I'm just telling you what they told me when I went to Autozone.

    General Engine Misfire

Might be different for the LC; Autozone here wanted 3 days and $92, Advance had it for $88 and Monday delivery. Local Toyota dealer had it now and wanted $108.

    General Engine Misfire

I checked both my service manuals, and they both said that I need to spark test them--basically pull a plug, ground it, turn the engine over, and see if it has a spark. I didn't think that doing this was a good thing (I remember issues with GM HEI ignitions and doing this) but anyway, that's how...

    General Engine Misfire

I went to get in my '99 this morning and when it cranked up, I noticed a distinct misfire (it ran fine the last time it was driven) It will idle, and drive, but at least one cylinder is not firing. Seems worse at low rpm's, and smoother (but still obviously misifiring) at higher rpms. The check...

    Best front brake pads?

Ok..TRIED to do the brakes today. The pads were SHOT..so I just changed them. I didn't want to drive 2 more miles with what was in there. Couldn't get the hub off. Couldn't get the cone washers out. Didn't have a 54mm socket anyway(couldn't find one!). Also need new guide pins for the pads...

    Exhaust modifications--your results

Not to derail the thread, but what about a cold air box for the intake? Has anyone recognized any real world increases from that?

    Best front brake pads?

I do have some vibration when using the brakes.

    Best front brake pads?

I haven't even looked at a service manual, but to pull the rotors off to get them turned, do I have to unbolt the wheel bearings and replace the seals, then reapck the bearings, or can I just remove the rotor? I really like a 2 piece hub/rotor design, but just from barely looking at the 100, it...

    Best front brake pads?

Hey I'd go with that. I have no problem with OEM stuff. I just bough the vehicle, but I understand these are the original pads. 96K miles..is that about right, or even possible? The rears have been replaced however.

    Best front brake pads?

Spressoman- You lost me withe the Audi A6 rotor --those brand of rotors fixed this issue on your Audi? I think i understand the comparison now. I think the anti rattle stuff is okay, except for the springs that go between the pads/over the rotor. It looks like somehow mine got bent too close...

    Best front brake pads?

    Towing 5600# with 100-series...

I recently pulled my approx 4000# boat about 600 miles round trip and got about 8-9 mpg in my '99 100

    Regular Unleaded or Premium Unleaded?

I recently towed my approx 3800# boat about 600 miles (half there, half back. I used 91 octane just because the owners manual said so. However, during this same time I actually put about 1000 miles on the vehicle, so I got to drive it some without towing using the 91 octane+ gasoline. After I...
