i didnt take any pics but some of the rust is big enough i can put marbles through. and its only the rear of the vehicle. im not really worried about the rust though, i plan to overhaul everything from body and paint to the engine anyway. i was just hoping for an idea of what a 40 would be worth...
found an all original 40 out here in wyoming and the guy wants 6 grand. runs beautifully, original paint, interior and drivetrain but the ambulance door and rear pan are pretty rusted. it would be my frist purchase of an fj40. is this a good price?
dont use heat!!!! i know theres lots of reinforcing ribs in the floor so its probably not going to warp but if you dont have to apply heat to metal....DON'T. use a chemical stripper, or an abrasive wheel or have it blasted. im a welder/custom metal fabricator by trade and adding heat is the last...
i was hoping to see some 40's with custom paint. not so much wild paint but something repainted rather than stock. maybe custom tones, rhino lined paint, one solid color or even two toned.
