I saw this mentioned but just wanted to confirm... these work for OBD1 trucks? And the kit contains everything necessary to do so?
I'm at a turning point with my '94 where I do less technical stuff and more distance driving and the power issue is becoming a deal-breaker. Because the turbos...
Thanks for the feedback folks! I just wanted to make sure I wasn't just re-assembling a problem. Truck runs insanely smooth now that air isn't free flowing around the plug seals.
Replacing my valve cover gasket due to severe leakage in the plug seals and wondered if the state of the inside of the valve cover is what one could expect from a 1994 ~195k mile truck. I searched but there aren't many pictures of the covers pre-cleaning in threads. .
I'm on 33's and had the 10% underdrive done by @cruiseroutfit a few months ago and it's been excellent. Didn't raise the RPM's so much that freeway driving is miserable, but is much easier to maintain freeway speeds.
See my post just above yours. Mine pretty much only worked while driving until I replaced the oil in my fan clutch. It actually turned out that my fan clutch was almost empty, too.
This is exactly what was occurring with my 94, and it was resolved by putting a high weight oil in my fan clutch. Ever since that change it's ice cold even when stopped and 100+ outside.
I'd love to get rid of a few things. All parts are used, but functioning. I'm lucky enough to be in a financial situation that allows me to replace/upgrade parts when troubleshooting. Bad parts are thrown out or rebuilt.

If I factor in the tires, it comes closer 13. The 16-17 was after the larger tires.
I'll try running higher octane, it might make a difference at this altitude.
That's one of the frustrating things... If I hadn't achieved it at the beginning, I wouldn't be upset about the mileage now. But instead, I had something special and it was taken from me!
I usually run 85 octane and prefer costco or chevron gas.
