About 1/4 in. clearance between radiator bracket and pully
I dont know anything about this pump and bracket, but it looks like a pretty clean install. I put more p/s fluid in and it silenced the pump for a while.
when I shut off the engine the resivoir...
I don't know much about p/s on 40s as I have never had it on any of mine. This belongs to a family member who asked me to work on it for him. The pump makes alot of noise when you turn the wheel. Plenty of fluid. I think that maybe the pump is bad and is bypassing fluid. Could this pump...
The roll cage looks great!! I like the angled spreader bars. Good idea. I would add a short piece between the spreader bars at the point where they bend. I rolled my 40 in some river gravel. Was'nt doing anything crazy, just dug in to deep on one side and it was over before I could stop it...
I got my herculiner from autozone for $89. It's not that great of a product. After a couple months in the sun, it had lost the shine and started to fade to dark grey, and also started to shrink around corners and edges, exposing the primer underneath. Not a good alternative to spray on bed...
did'nt know there were ten holes in the windshield frame. Are they used to mnt. the hard top? I have a 77' and had a 78' 40. Only two bolt holes. :hhmm:
Sounds like you have the cruiser bug. That 40 may be worth 4K. Be careful, don't spend too much. Cause you're gonna need it later. I paid 5500 for my 77 40. It was from arizona. No rust at all anywhere. If you cant $#%$ him down, let him keep it.
Good luck
Anything but TSLs' especially if you plan to ride the streets. Even a little. I bought mine cause they looked cool and were a little cheaper than others. I now have GoodYear MTRs' 33-12.5. They are a much better ride, and more stable on rock. I think that tsls' are for trailered mud rigs.
