For Sale Houston, TX: PTO Box and PTO Winch (off a LJ78 but could fit other models)

Still sitting in my garage... Am moving house and don't want to lug it around. Price drop to $1000 if someone comes and picks it up in next 3 weeks. After that, price goes back up and I'll start looking for a cruiser to build around the winch.

For Sale Houston, TX: PTO Box and PTO Winch (off a LJ78 but could fit other models)

Also includes 6 new-in-box u-joints. More than you can ever break! Am also including a free PTO take-off gear for inside the T-case. My HZ T-case on my LC already came with it, so I did not need to use. Bought 2nd hand and it already had surface rust. If you can find a new one, better to use...

6 spare Yokes (2 photos from different angle to show which are spline and which are smooth bore) Bottom left yoke is the shear pin yoke I was running. Same yokes from different angle spare shear pins I could not get hold of an original PTO lever so I fab'ed this one to mount onto the 1HZ...

Some more photos of the winch: Rear View OEM Roller plate and top guards (did not use in my build) Custom sewn cover. removable (combo of press buttons and velcro). Since I was running my winch under the car, I had this made to keep the dirt out when not in use.

My LC is sold, so am selling my PTO winch set-up: OEM PTO box, PTO Winch, spare pillow blocks shafts, drive shafts and yokes. Will also throw in a set of new U-Joints I have lying around. Had it mounted under floor on my LJ78, rear mounted with front line pay-out; To make it front mounted again...

PTO winch and Aisin A1000 - what are the they worth?

Moving back from Asia to the States and can’t take my LC with me due to having an engine swap - it’s a 1992 LJ78 with a swapped in 1PZ diesel + turbo. Apparently for US import, engine has to be original. 😩 Am thinking about parting out some of the accessories before selling the car and taking...

Underfloor / centre mounted PTO winch on LJ78 - Landcruiser II

No it was fairly easy. They sit with a press fit in the ID on the PTO shaft and I drove them off with a hammer, piece of pipe and some wood as counter. The housing side has a bit of play and the OD of the bearings just slide in, you just need to watch out for it going in square.

Yep same thinking here. I already have a much bigger mechanical sealed push/pull cable on order. am also thinking about the hydraulic version but have not found a small enough lever yet. I don't want to put a second hand brake lever into the cab.

Underfloor / centre mounted PTO winch on LJ78 - Landcruiser II

Final touches. The plastic throttle cable knob broke off pretty quickly as it was not designed for the pull force needed so I re-purposed a spark plug socket to a make-shift T-handle. T handle lives in the glove compartment and is only put on when needed. Cut and drilled, before tapping...

Underfloor / centre mounted PTO winch on LJ78 - Landcruiser II

2nd step building the winch side brackets. I wanted to do this without chopping the original freespool handle (just in case I want to later move the winch to the front) and found that a 1 inch exhaust clamp fits perfect for and can clamp onto the lever knob. 50lb hammock spring as spring...
