Montero 3rd Gen to 18’GX here. Hope I did the right thing. @26K miles, no mud underneath the carriage. First mod on the list is BMC.. then it’s game on 😅
The width is visually apparent in this pic, but the height is deceiving. Even without the roof rack, this thing towered over mine. I doubt it would fit in my office's parking garage (I can touch the beams through my moon roof).

"Spec" is a bit misleading here. The higher the caster, the more stable the handling (within reason, of course). Same on the low end. There are a few other variables, but you're not gonna crash if your caster is 2.8 degrees. Just more...
You'll notice the vagueness/twitchiness in the steering most at highway speeds. It gets irritating on long highway drives, requiring constant attention and correction. Freedom off-road UCAs solve the problem. A decent alignment shop can rotate...
That's how I bought mine a year or two ago. Great deal. Besides adding factory Remote Start, I consider Crawl and MTS to be essential additions to this model. The GX is pretty amazing. Thanks @Acrad for starting this thread.
