Well I took my exam last night. Passed with flying colors. Now I need to learn two more minor things before I can make use of my new ham radio -- what can I do with the radio and how the h*** can I do it?? :( No call sign yet so can't start chatting until Monday or Tuesday. One question...

If you have a smart phone try the app, Ham Tech. I have it on my iphone and it works great. Or atleast I think it does. LOL Let you know more when I pass the test.

I got the Yaesu FT-252 since it's only $75 and they say it's water proof. Don't think I'll throw this one overboard to test it but I won't worry about rain and such.

I tried that once. Decided to warm up a pot roast under the hood of my BMW while traveling in Europe. Somewhere in France I managed to short out the only frigging wire under the hood that wasn't 'fused'. The primary lead to the coil. (old BMW!) Managed to discount the battery and keep the car...

Please define "TLC". Looks great to me. What does it need. I'm looking for something I can drive at freeway speeds then do some 4 wheeling and drive home. How it she on the highway?
