81 fj40. Parting out. Central FL.

Sale Pending. Ok, everybody. I have an offer on the entire truck. If that doesn't work out, I'll be pulling parts. Some more info on the truck. I cut the body off where the firewall meets the floor and trashed the back half. The front half of the body has either been repaired or is repairable...

Yes, I do have the ambulance doors, they are in pretty good shape. I took them off when I got the truck. They have been living in the shed. They do need some minor work and paint.

81 fj40. Parting out. Central FL.

The location is East Central FL. The condtion of the motor is pretty good. It has about 88k miles on it. I was going to rebuild it when I took the truck apart. But after removing the oil pan, I changed my mind. It was to clean and ran too good to bother. I shot some motor oil in the cylinders...

Do you like it? (You knew this was coming!)

I'm excited about it. I would not drive one myself, but I will buy one for my wife. I'm also talking everyone I can into buying one. In the hopes that if Toyota sells enough of them that there will be 1) An after market. All kinds of improvements need to be made. 2) Maybe, just maybe...

    Starter almost caused a fire!

I have seen this problem on Chevys. Check the alignment between the starter gear and the flywheel. What happens is when you turn the key to "Start", the solenoid engages. The energized solenoid then pulls a plunger in to 1, engage the starter gear with the flywheel. 2, close a heavy duty...

Anyone have an 81 or close FJ40?

I need help. It all started as a clutch replacement. Since it was gonna be down for a while, i thought I would knock a little of the rust off. It's now turned into a frame off resto. the problem is, it took so long for me to get to putting parts back on, that I forgot where some of the parts...
