Builds "Lucy" the Troopy 2016 Build

My considerations for sleeping downstairs: The downstairs sleeping is very cramped with two people (no idea if you're travelling alone or together) if you have a high cabinet to one side like you've designed. This leaves about 80-90cm for the sleeping platform for two, so you're probably not...

Builds "Lucy" the Troopy 2016 Build

The car looks amazing and love your design. No idea if its too late, but some feedback & idea's - feel free to ignore ;) Agree that switching the bench to the other sides makes sense with getting in and out with only one door open. To open the long drawer you need to open a door. Can be a...

    Builds A Re-Build of 2004 78 Series Troopy 1HD FTE

Kgalagadi is troopy heaven! We didn't run into a single soul in five days and 800km's of driving through the park back in 2019! Memories!

How to reset the T-belt warning light?

Does anybody know how to reset the dash t-belt warning light? Its a 1996 poverty spec dashboard HZJ75, light came on at exactly 300,000km, but had the belt done recently during a service.

    FJ75 Global Expedition Build

Sounds like a cool plan, good luck, will be following your thread! I have disc's front and drum's rear and have never considered changing them out for disc's. Indeed they don't stop as responsive as we might have gotten accustomed to from modern setups. However in my experience you learn to...

Yellow HZJ 78 troopy (2001) build

I have copyright on this system, choice of materials and layout lol ;) Great to see that you made a similar choice, we've been very happy with it. Our interior still looks like new after 1,5 years of overland travel. So did you powdercoat the handytube system white? Looks great!

Thanks, really looking into getting them powder coated white. So I'll try to find a RAL match for the 045 White

I have same white wheels and am looking into powder coating mine too. What colour (RAL code?) did you end up choosing? The powdercoat appears greyish instead of white like the first photo?

Overlanding is the same as camping, right?

Glad to hear it worked out for you. I'm not claiming that bling and aftermarket stuff will necessarily break, enough examples like your own that it works perfectly. But from personal experience, most of the stuff that broke on my trip (check out my signature), happened to be stuff which was...

    Powdercoat RAL colour white wheels

Yeah that looks about right, thanks!

Overlanding is the same as camping, right?

Hilarious thread! The funny contrast with 'proper/traditional overlanding' (during which you actually cross continents and live out of the car for months on end), is that you want the least amount of modifications as possible to your car. All the extra bling will probably fail, it will...

    Powdercoat RAL colour white wheels

Thanks Juan this guy says his 40 is Cygnus white, looks ‘creamier’ than my wheels somehow. Think I need a brighter/lighter white. Any ideas?
