Hate to hijack this thread, but I’ll have LV rear bumpers and brackets available by the end of Feb. I’m at King of the Hammers with my race team for the next few weeks, but the design is done, just waiting for my first prototype. My toes are starting to hurt...
Whoa, lots of progress! I have my drawings sent out for a quote with a local shop, but so far they’re super slow to respond or get anything done. Also I don’t believe I could hit the $240 price point, you guys might as well run with what you’ve got going on.
Sorry I missed this, I do not know if they would fit, your truck. I would be happy to build you a bumper, I need to check in again with the company that is going to do the bending for me to go get an idea on cost for these bumpers, I emailed them before the holidays, but I have a feeling it...
I believe you, you sound very certain, just curious where you come up with that kind of detailed info?
Generally speaking though the safe ASSumption is that OEM reman is your best bet.
I experienced similar issues and I believe the problems were caused by the BCM getting wet. It has been a couple years, but I believe my research told me that the BCM was under the dash. Mine had a small rust spot above the windshield which I think was allowing rain to leak past the gasket and...
This is the route I took. Stock one let me sit at around 290k(idk any alternator specific history before I owned it). I haven't take that spare off the shelf though. Every remanufacturer has a slightly different process, but OEM from Toyota is going to have the highest standards besides maybe...
That is news to me, thanks for the heads up! So you're thinking I'll need to include or at least offer new lower brackets with the bumpers? This is proving to be the most complicated simplest bumper project I've worked on in awhile. Wish I just had a local 25 to work with!
I'm with you, I don't want to put extra holes in that guys would weld up, but if they were there from the factory there is no reason not to add them. They literally take seconds to cut and add pennies to the cost of the part.
I had a chance over the holiday to stop by and take a few...
There are three things I need before I can start my prototype
First is to confirm the 4.46" number on the attached drawing. In order for this to be as accurate as possible, the measurements should be taken from a pretty straight bumper.
Second is the height of the frame rails themselves...
You guys are awesome! Do both the 40 and the 25 have this slight bend starting a few inches outside the frame rails, or are they just all custom smashed?
Does anyone have a good top view of one of these bumpers? I have some basic measurements, but I will basically be eyeballing the radiused corner. The attached photo is the closes thing I could find to what I need, but it doesn't show a radius at all! I would obviously like to make these as...
Hey guys,
I know this is a for sale thread, but I'll introduce myself real quick. My name is Dom Balducci, I've been into Landcruisers(and honestly anything japanese and 4wd) for about 15 years. I've been welding, fabricating, and wrenching on off road trucks the entire time. I've worked on...
