The problem: tire too close and too low on oe mount. The solution: change the mount.

Sleeves are standard on pre 74 axles. Someone either changed your axleshafts or the whole axle. It happens.

Then that shaft is for a domestic pickup like a GM, Ford or RAM 3/4 or 1 ton not a LC axle. It also looks way to long for a LC axle too.

That is an axel shaft for a full floating axle like the one the tire is mounted on.

Took it grocery getting! Felt good, first real drive in 6 months. Both axles rebuilt, new brakes plumbed and new suspension. Rode nice! Also found a few more items to add to the fix it list.

A " Rod out " is a term used for hot tanking and cleaning a radiator or block or whatever, it involves sliding a rod down the radiator tubes or thru the water jacket to dislodge/break up/remove debris, etc. Put a bucket under and flush at will
