I know, but this guy has been working on cruisers since before my 79 was brand new and is the only one that works on my cruisers. Service manager and dealer owner's kids are patients of mine so I have a tendency to believe them. Anyway, apparently they were the connectors to the fuel pump and it...
I had thought about getting AAA but I thought my most likely use for it would be breakdown off road and they don't cover that stuff ;) I'll look into it again thanks for the reminder.
Fuel gauge stopped working. Took them 3 hours to diagnose (while I sat there) then $577 to fix the connectors! I can imagine sitting on the side of the road in WY on my way back from CO with 4 young daughters saying "when are we going, Dad?"....
Bringing this thread back up. Made it to CO and back in September of last year, had a great time the 100 performed really well. Even had my 4 year old twins on mosquito pass on their birthday ;)
Anyway, found out last week a couple of connectors to my fuel pump were shot, one fully broken, one...
Thanks - I tried PM'ing him, his inbox is full. Then asked to get in touch with him on the end of a couple page post I started and I think it was old by then. Figured I'd avoid getting into trouble, see this: http://www.risingsun4x4club.org/forum2/showthread.php?p=256383&posted=1#post256383
Hi -
I plan to do some mild wheeling next week in the Vail/Leadville area. I'll be alone, have a well equipped 100, good recovery gear, and don't plan on getting in over my head. (knock on wood but I've been researching the trails and plan on underestimating instead of overestimating) I've got...
As I've done for the past 9 years, when I get into a situation like this, I post for all of thee who know more than I to weigh in on.....thanks in advance.
Heading to CO on Sat for a week, some mild off roading involved (will have kids along).
Got some steel brake lines last week, and my...
Bought the 2.5" suspension kit from Slee a few years ago, but I forgot if I have the heavy or medium load. Does this do the trick or is it all the springs that make all the difference, and is there a visual indicator there?
Thanks
John
Thanks - I'm considering driving the cruiser this time (get my use out of the rack) and then getting a heavier capacity trailer for next season. Then of course if I have a breakdown I'll be kicking myself - knock on wood.
I won't notice much difference in "pulling experience" between the FJ40...
A bit more info: towing capacity of the truck is 14K lbs, so that's not the problem. I can also rent a steel trailer with much greater capacity, but that will add, what, 1k more to the tow weight? Truck is SRW, tires on truck are 10 ply MT's. Again, I have the airbags, so I can really support...
