Hi -

I plan to do some mild wheeling next week in the Vail/Leadville area. I'll be alone, have a well equipped 100, good recovery gear, and don't plan on getting in over my head. (knock on wood but I've been researching the trails and plan on underestimating instead of overestimating) I've got GPS enabled apple devices and trail/topos so getting lost shouldn't be the issue.

I have a Sat phone, but no one to call if I'd have a problem. I saw this thread: http://www.ttora.com/forum/showthread.php?t=164869 about people willing to help out if someone needs it, and tried contacting the one guy in the area I'm going to but to no avail.

Anyone in that area who would be willing to help in case of breakdown? I just had a mechanic go over everything with a "fine toothed comb" and he says I'm good, but you never know....

Or is there a place to call or tow company considering the many trails in the area?

Thoughts?

John

Yup, stuff like that happens all the time. We have been getting pounded by rain this year down in the SW corner of the state. Trail conditions can change in a hurry when the flash flood warning is in effect.
