I ended up installing a JL Audio XD700/5v2 amplifier, JL Audio C2 speakers (front and rear), and added a JL Audio CS112LG-TW3 subwoofer. I like JL stuff, so I just kept everything the same...it sounds fantastic.

I am interested if you have made any progress on your project. I am looking to install a new amp, but was worried about how to tie in to the factory amp and prevent the hiss most people experience.

I have read where people have stated the tape deck can be removed, but has anyone actually done this? I don't mean by relocating the tape deck to another location in the vehicle, but complete replacement with an aftermarket head unit.

Question: I'm pretty sure this is something I can handle, I was going to splice into the the existing wiring and use the current amp. Am I better off using a new amp or can I keep the existing for now and then upgrade that later? Thanks again for the insight here .... Have you swapped out the...
