I have looked thru the search but haven't found the answer to my question: For highway and washboard gravel road travel would replacing the original shocks on 97 LX450 with Landcruiser OEM shocks be good enough or would Bilstein/Rancho etc work significantly better? Good enough means to me...

I put synthetic in my 97 (72,000 miles) in the engine (flushed), and in the diffs and xfer (no flush). Changed transmission fluid, used left over Toyota ATF from last car. I now see 18 MPG on Interstate at 70 mph. I think the synthetic pays for itself in fuel savings....may be only 3-4%, but...

My 1981 FJ60 has 260,000 miles. I converted to Amsoil 10W40 synthetic with bypass filter at 125,000 miles. I can still see hone marks in the cylinders using a small flashlight and looking in the spark plug hole. I change oil when the yearly analysis says it is needed. Longest drain interval...

Am I the only one having failures with these pulleys? Anybody else have to replace/repair one of these?

Manafre's Aussie pulley is 1/2 the price of Toyota's....any experience with these? My OEM lasted about 220,000 miles and a used replacement lasted about 40,000 miles more. (FJ-60 with A/C)
