Media The MUD 100 series Photos thread

Took the kiddos and 100 out for a little Sunday drive yesterday. Something from the dark side followed me home last week as well. It’s the wife’s DD and family truckster. We’ll see if the two can live in harmony…:slap:

    New 100 owner

250k is hard to believe. That cruiser looks like it’s been in a time capsule! Heck of a find!

Test drove the 2024 Taco Offroad

Thanks for the info! Disappointing to hear the 4th gen Taco’s have less second row room than the 3rd gen. The Pro seats are a horrible idea. I would think they would make the truck a total non starter for a majority of buyers. 🤷‍♂️

What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

Replaced the positive battery terminal with a Duralast Gold marine terminal. I’ve been fighting corrosion ever since I installed the Toyota battery. The original factory terminal had seen better days, was warped and not providing the best connection.

    Tire Choice Help

JMO, but if the ride with E rated tires really bothers you, you’re better off getting a second set of wheels and running SL rated tires for daily driving and switching to your E rated tires for off-roading. There really isn’t any free lunch and tires that are suited to on road performance and...

Test drove the 2024 Taco Offroad

That’s a good looking build! I’m getting around 11 mpg with my 100 with ARB front w/ winch, OME 2865’s, Prinsu rack and 285/76r16 Wildpeak AT4’s. I can squeak out 14 mpg cruising back roads at 50-60 mph. I’ve not dared to calculate MPG with the rack loaded, lol 😂

Test drove the 2024 Taco Offroad

Oh for sure! The new LC250 seems to take a big hit from tires alone. I’m not sure if the 4th gen is the same or not. My goal for whatever my next rig is will be to stay as close to stock as possible. I would only add a low profile bumper to mount a winch, and might step up to a 33” tire. I...

Test drove the 2024 Taco Offroad

Yep, that’s kinda what I figured. Mine are all 10 through 7 so space isn’t a huge issue, but it will be come one eventually. Space wise, a Tundra makes more sense, but it’s a lot of truck for the right mountain trails in my area. The 100 really is a sweet spot size wise, but I’m a bit weary of...

Test drove the 2024 Taco Offroad

How is the back seat space? I know Tacomas are tight, but I’m curious if any improvement a were made for the 4th gen. I’m somewhat considering moving on from my 100 in the next few years and the Tacoma is pretty high on my list. The only problem is I’ve got a wife and 3 kids I need to be able...

What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

FWIW, I used the Advance Auto kit and took the boot off to install the joint. I then reinstalled the boot. Worked much better as the kit didn’t have an exact size that fit perfect with the boot in place. Arguably a smaller chance of damaging the boot that was as well.

What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

Wise choice! It only took me two trips to get mine done! ;)

What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

I did my LBJ recently along with new UCA. It’s a job, but I didn’t think it was that bad. I only need a press for installing the new LBJ. Everything else came apart with the help of a BFH, including knocking the old LBJ out of the control arms. Be warned, the steering knuckle assembly is one...

    Broken Alternator Bolt

Drill it out completely and run longer bolt through it with a nut on the back side. That’s how I repaired mine and it’s been fine for several years.
