I don’t see how this holding the title nonsense is even legal. I don’t know about CA law, but in WV you’ve got 60 days to hand the title over to the purchaser. I would think Cali along with every other state would have similar laws.

I like both vehicles and find them each appealing in their own way. The deciding factor for me between the two will come down to interior space and headroom. I’m pretty tall and found the 5G 4Runner to be a bit claustrophobic with the lower roof and higher belt line compared to my 100...
What a beautiful place to get stuck!
As for being high centered, a locker may or may not help, just depends on how high centered you are. Typically, once you find yourself in that position it’s going to take a winch or snatch from another truck to get you out.
I’m pretty happy with the 6th Gen release overall. I could definitely do without the big screen, but it’s not a deal breaker. I’m curious to see one side by side with the LC250. With the overall similarities in the frame and drive train, the 4Runner seems like much more of a bargain vs the...
No modifications to the skid were necessary for me. I did notch the corners of the splash guard so it would mate with the skid. I also installed some 1” spacers to give a little more clearance between the skid and the radiator.
My guess is that it will share the same power trains as the Tacoma. 4 cylinder turbo and 4 cylinder turbo hybrid. I too would love to see a non-turbo option as I’m concerned about the longevity and repair costs of the turbo engines, but I think we’re stuck with them going forward.
If you’re in So Cal I wouldn’t even consider a truck from the Northeast. That rust isn’t terrible, but no need to settle for that (especially for $18k) when you live in the land of rust free vehicles.
JMO, if the cruiser has been running good, just fill’er up with gas and roll. I wouldn’t waste time and effort removing the sliders for what will likely be a net gain of zero MPG.
My biggest concern would be making sure the cooling system is in good shape, especially the radiator and heater T’s.
Another happy customer. They’re usually one of my first stops for parts. Prices are typically, but not always, cheaper than US sources. Fast shipping too.
Only issue I have is that my CC company usually blocks my transactions and I have to call and tell them it’s legit.
Could be the difference in my bumper, the 03+ and your 98-02 model. No worries about the eye or hook scratching the rollers. I used the same rollers for several years with steel cable and no issues or damage. (No hard or off angle pulls though)
For the control box, I disassembled everything...
