I first get all the loose stuff off I can with a good wire wheel. I then use several treatments of Apple Cider Vinegar that I work in with a wire wheel for a few minutes; then move to Muriatic Acid you can buy at any hardware store. It's slow, but generally I just cover it up and let it work.
Scraped / chipped off the driver side floor pad off the floor pan; started chemically removing rust...It's a slow method, but not a lot of work. A few more treatments to go.
Got an engine cart built and motor pulled. Cleaned and Media blasted engine splash guards. Does anyone know if splash guards were originally black or plated? Mine appeared to have been black, but don't know if that was original or not.
Put the finishing touches on my PTO winch today. It was a long rebuild...fighting a frozen clutch, shaft, frozen upper and lower rollers, welded bolts, etc...
