    No more brushed?

I ran brushless motors in my crawlers for a couple years, at the time they were great. Now I have switched back to brushed, and loving how well they work. The speed controllers have improved a ton over the past 4 years for crawling. I run 35 turn motors on 11.1 volts, love the speed, and low end...

    Transfer case rebuilding...how difficult?

I would just fill it up with fresh oil and run it for 500-1000 miles, then drain it and fill it again. If its not giving you any problems then run with it.

Looking for Shop Recommendations in MN

Reading through your other thread, sounds like you might just have some vac lines crossed? I had a hell of a time getting my truck running correctly after doing a HG gasket last summer. I might be able to take a look at it for you later this month, but I am busy this weekend and might be...

    power windows--ARGH!

Time to break down the window wiring in the FSM. Since I swap my half doors on frequently I needed to be able to disconnect my power windows quickly and easily. I ended up moving all of the switches under the radio, and now only have 2 wires going to each window. Here are where I put my...

    power windows--ARGH!

Check the the ground wire going into the switch, make sure its a good ground. Could be as simple as fixing the ground wire.

    power windows--ARGH!

The case does not need to be ground. You have two woes going into it.flip the switch one way and one wire is positive while the other is ground. Flip the switch the other way and it reverse the wires.

    power windows--ARGH!

I completely rewired my power windows in my 85. My switches are now under the stereo. I used carling rocker switches and relays. Windows work like new now :)

    '85 SR5 4Runner

Time for another update... falling behind on things I picked up a used 12v compressor this summer and installed OBA. Then I picked up some LED rock lights from Off Road Only. My drivers side floor pan was rusted out, I had a sheet of 22 gauge steel welded over it for most of the...

    RTH Needed RE: Carpet replacement!

Since this post is about carpeting, I am torn between getting carpet or vinyl for my 4runner. The old carpet was shot, most of it has been ripped out. I have been fixing all of the rust issues recently, and I am almost ready to order some new carpet. I like the idea of vinyl, as it would be...

    22re cylinders 1 and 3 not firing...

If it sat for a few years, but ran before it was parked. You might have clogged injectors. Pull the injectors and bench test them.

IFS box leak...but different than most

Saw someone with this issue on pirate, that ball is pressed into the box from the factory after it is machined. It serves no purpose and can be welded up.

    Locker options - 85 4runner

I have a Spartan locker in the rear, its similar to a lock right. And I have a E-locker up front. I daily drive my truck year round, I do not own another vehicle either. I haven't had any issues in the winter, and we get plenty of it in Minnesota. I had the 4runner locked in the rear for a few...
