Starts, runs, drives.
Brakes are soft and need a good bleed, transmission linkage is a little off, and there are 1000 other projects, but yea I was ready to give it all up there for a while.
Next up is to pick up where i left off and do the...
FINALLY - GOT IT!
Went over what felt like every inch of wiring, all connectors and finally found my problem. The swap harness has its own fusebox for and a key ECU circuit had a loose wire. How I did not spot this one of the first times I...
New machine doesn't like all the up/down.
I need to tweak some settings. This is 4½ hours on one map, just to rough things out. Should've been done in about 2 hours.... grrr
This might be the last year for these maps. They are so much...
I am heading to the hardware store today. thoughts are to get some 1/4 steel rod and shape it to the lip. This will give it a small curve and should not cut the tire if it does touch. It will also add some strength to it.
I am refurbishing a winch for another project and made up some new battery cables. They are so nice, I may swap them with mine and use the old ones on it 😊
Soooo I searched the web and Mud trying to see what people have done on trimming front fenders and I found some "old car guy" tricks. I taped off 1 1/2"'s and plan to trim that out and try to keep the OE 40 look if possible rather than a flat...
Thank you for the kind words.
I am a fat tire guy and I want some width for stability. I read a long time ago, for every inch you go up, you must go the same in width to keep it stable. Even with the 3" wider axles, I can tell the...
I'd try to get ahold of one 35x10.5 Kanati mud hog on the an FJ40 steelie, they might just be narrow enough to tuck?
This thing is absolutely perfect. Great work. This is the ideal 40 for most of us!
Arp hub studs for the front plus new rotors and pads and re greased the bearings.
I definitely like these studs from front range better than the trail gear. Although the hex head for easy install on the tg is nice.
Had an afternoon of sorting and packing this years swag. Its almost time and everything is coming together after months of planning. Much appreciation to the folks behind the scenes organizing and sewing it together.
@80Lady , @Mesa Woman...
My test drive did get cut short today due to rain, but I did get up to the shop and flexed it out. Close in the rear and will need to trim or install my Metal Tech fenders in the front. Nice having a rollback!
Also got out on the highway and...
Something on my punch list since putting a Dobinsons lift on my truck this time last year was to put a lift on my camping trailer. When I built it I threw on a set of old 60 springs which I have several sets to choose from in my scrap pile...
*taps mic* is this thing on..
minor change of plans.
I recently bought an LX450 project (just what I needed) to spiff up and eventually sell and it came with this, and I won’t be using it in the LX :hmm:
This should be a nice upgrade for my...
