There is a heat shield on the front passenger side with an integral hose to hard mount (on my '94). Suggest replacing it if it looks worn given the "fix everything" vibe here

The OEM switch goes in the square port to the right in your pic. When I back fit a rear locker the receptacle was there on my '94. I down loaded the FSM and ECD for it and they were both spot on.
The permatex on my transmission pan has never leaked. I can't remember what it was. I used OEM fipg on the lower oil pan, installed per fsm, and that worked too.
Since the PAIR system seems to be out make sure the vacuum line on the front of the head is plugged. I took mine out and put the O2' sensors in the manifolds (much better position if you ask me).
