Compound Turbos on a 2nd Edition B Engine

Same for me, was wondering if springs got less strong. Was wondering if it could be possible to use a device which take position of the crank and pressure from cylinder (glow plug). These device take #1 TDC and compression and peak pressure of the cylinder, that give a Pressure/ Volume diagram...

What did you do on your 70 series today?

It is just mine (75 troopy) or they are all the same, really tight to get it off (body on frame)? Can’t imagine re-installing it without scratching all the new coating on the frame lol. (Main fuel tank) Thanks

    Steering wheel shaking

Just a thought but it happen to me when I brought my troopy home when I bought it. The truck sat for a while before selling it with a flat tire. My guess is water got inside tire with rain. Was a front tire and it was scarring, stop at a mechanic and couldn’t figure out what it was, had 500km to...

    Builds 1988 BJ74 “Number 1”

I removed a couple of oil coolers from 3B and noticed a couple changes in this area (from inside) from thin aluminum wall to thicker. On some, the thin aluminum wall started to be corroded. If you remove your cover, pay good attention to surface contact. Yes I thing a small layer of sealant both...

You could try to weld on what’s remain from the broken bolt. I use to drill broken bolt too before but not anymore, just when welding doesn’t work. Sometimes I start by welding a washer on the bolt, then a nut Most of the time I do a spot weld on the bolt, like 10-15 spots, building « a new »...

    bellhousing(clutch cover) bolts

Yours is a little older than what Duncanrm posted. His is aluminum with two reinforcements bracket on each side. This bell housing started around 1985 for the 3B. Your bell housing is cast iron and no reinforcements needed.

Pignon nut shouldn’t be torqued? Or you switched to solid sleeve with shims and you will install the flange and torque to the same value they were adjusted?

    Are these things really unreliable?

If your BJ60 is well maintained, it’s probably as reliable as many new 4x4 if not more. Certainly not as confortable but I think it is not too bad, don’t really need axle modifications. I use to work with engine which have 50k and 80k hours. They are rebuild at 10k hours intervals. I think...
