    Help with Steering linkage issue

I personally have never used U-haul so far in my life. That being said I can thing of a 25 instances of friends renting U-haul things...not one of them is a good story...90% resulted in yelling and screaming. U-haul IMO is about the worst company on earth (right up there with Microsoft). Their...

    Help with Steering linkage issue

ROFL!! So true! Best I saw was a buddy...he managed to rent a car-hauler to move a 12,000lb Bobcat...pulled by a half-ton Chev. Safe bet he would have lost his deposit had that been seen by anyone at U-Haul. When he backed the Bobcat off the trailer it lifted the rear-wheels of his truck off...

    1986 HJ60 for Sale

Hello, 1986 HJ60 for sale, Canadian Spec 24V truck with 2H engine. 5-speed. 490,000kms on it. Runs great, moderate rust for its age. I have owned this truck since August 2008, and it has never let me down yet. Brand new (less than 5000kms) stock size BFG all terrain tires. New glow plugs...

    Wilson Switch Installed, small problem

Predictably, human error is at fault. Not sure how I managed to do it, but basically I had wired it backward to the point that I had +24V on both sides of the bulb. Thanks to rockcrawler: I had decided to re-wire it anyway, after the re-wire all is now well. Anybody wanna buy a...

My money is on one or two of your plugs being burnt out. Break out the ohm-meter.

    Wilson Switch Installed, small problem

You are kidding me, first I've heard of it. No mention whatsoever in my FSM about a "superglow computer", just timers everywhere. Sounds like money I didn't intend to spend, if I leave the computer connected the EDIC will still work correctly? Funny, I thought the EDIC was a relay in the...

    Wilson Switch Installed, small problem

Nope, checked there, unless it is stamped fuel relay (or similar). I seriously doubt it though as the connector did not match the FSM at all. FSM shows a 13pin connector to the timer, the fuel relay had an 8 pin IIRC. The only other thing in there was the "seatbelt warning relay." If I wasn't...

    Wilson Switch Installed, small problem

Hmmm.. Now I am REALLY confused. I was measuring voltage in the bulb socket, If I measure from a ground to the positive pin (of the socket) I get 23.6V, no problem here. Measured from the Other side of the socket (ground side) to ground, get 0.00V. Again, no problem here. Measure from Pin to...

    Wilson Switch Installed, small problem

So last night I got my wilson switch done as per this drawing: Woa! What a difference, the truck has never started so easy or smoothly as it did this morning, even in summer (-10C this morning). I even had a fully working superglow system before my Wilson switch and it was nowhere near as...

60 owner looking for glow plug help

I am thinking I should just K.I.S.S. and gut the wiring and go with this: Pretty much nothing to go wrong this way. Anybody have any input?

60 owner looking for glow plug help

Thanks for the thread nieve cruiser, I have parsed through pages upon pages of wilson switch info about the BJ60. I know the theory would be the same, but the practicality slightly different. I hope it is ok to hijack your now (apparently) dormant thread, if not, I apologize. I am 90% of...

    Battery Sizes and Types

That still seems a little odd to me, after-all Toyota didn't see a problem with center tapping the headlights. Regardless I intend to put a 24V to 12V converter in the truck, at which time I will move the headlight power to that 12V source.

    Battery Sizes and Types

Yep, Walmart. Kind of pained me to buy batteries at walmart, but they were the only place that had what I wanted in stock.

    Battery Sizes and Types

Thanks Guys, Ended up taking the plunge on 2 Energizer Marine Start/Deep Cycle batteries, Group 27. They fit perfectly, not certain if I will be able to get blankets in there or not. Fired up very easy this morning. After it fired up I noticed that my headlights were out, so I re-parked it...
