Did mine yesterday. We only disconnected the swaybar in the front and didn't touch the break lines or steering knuckle. It was a tight fit getting the spring up into place but with some twisting it fit in.
On the rear we jacked up one corner at a time and let the wheel hang. Disconnected...

For comparison sake here is a rollover in the red truck I was riding shotgun in several years ago (no one was hurt but the truck without a full cage took a beating).
Yes, it leaves a big hole if removed. I had to take it out to do my XM install.

Goto the XM radio instructions and it shows how to remove it. Mostly clips with a couple bolts.
