Tailgate, rusty bottom as usual. Previously I had sand blasted all the rusty areas, so today I am finishing it up. Made a patch panel for the skin and had to rebuild the inner lip too. Sprayed with weld-through primer and tacked it on.
That can be the tricky part sometimes. I have been using this Eastwood stuff on everything. It’s really thin so it runs into all tight places. If I can’t access it then I will use weld through primer. Also, I sometimes spray rubberized undercoating on interior doors and quarters after...
This one had Ben rust proofed previously. The stuff did a fine job in the rockers. It’s a wax type spray in goop, and it was still packed in the corner, and still soft and sticky. I will clean this up and weld it back on. The other side shows signs of rust, so it might be a different story.
