Actually, the mount has 2 joints, so it tucks right up under the mirror (like an idiot, I had it for a year before I realized this lol.) I know how I get obsessed with projects like this, so it's amusing to see it in 3rd person :)

I have one of the $40 ones. To prevent the slipping, I made a little "z" hook that uses the screw hole to prevent it from sliding down the taper.

very funny guys :-P It is parked under trees so there's always tons of leaves in there and swiping it is what causes the junk to come into the truck. I just don't want bugs going in there too is mostly my issue (still not used to texas bugs, that's a whole 'nother can of worms) I was hoping...

Anyone know if there is some easy mod to mount the spare tire on the rear door like the prado? Hoping maybe there are some hidden bolts or mount that they just skinned over. I'm assuming the door is the same and/or strong enough.
