Could you post up a picture of your rig with the 265s on it? My son is looking at those for his 80. Currently has a crappy set of 285s... But he is a broke college student ... so at3ws in larger sizes are out of the budget
Swapped out the alternator, good to go. Good learning opportunity for the kid. If we had time to spare we would have gone the rebuild route.
Side note - is there a method other than unhooking the radiator to get that darn thing out?

... and update - 10+ days running with one compartment set to freeze (ottor pops for a 4 year old on a camp out ... firgging classic). not one iota of an issue.
Interestingly the ARB and Dometic CFX are at similar price points for these sizes. There isn's an exact correspondence in size but they do step up and over one another (around the $1K mark) from the 63 to the 95.
I'm almost certain this is an alternator issue.... On my son's 94 FZJ80 he said it made weird noises on start and had a bunch of lights on on the dash. Upon further inspection the following lights are on:
A/T Oil Temp - Brake - Oil Light - Red Light above the voltage gage
Checked the battery...

After 3 months I was finally able to get a replacement fridge from Dometic. Plus side they upgraded me. Down side - I spent most of the camping season with a fridge that blew fuses every day or 2. All the same wiring in my rig - no blown fuses with the new fridge after 6 days of run...
@pappy - no point in feeding the troll. Side note I agree 100%. My wife is much happier camping with the fridge and my 4 year old can throw half her sandwich back in the cooler without ending up with a soggy mess. Great stuff.
