Hi, try to remove the motor from the linkage. When you have remove it , switch on the motor then turn it off. Re engage the linkage again to the motor and make sure the position of the wipet arm is also in the position when the wiper is turned of. I hope this helps.

Hi. Try to reunplug and plug again the plug assembly of the wiring harness you tested. Check if all the pins are connected properly. Some of them may have not inserted or push out during the pressure of putting it back togethet.

Yes it's an aftermarket thermostat controller. The way it's been installed it was put in as a replacement for the original thermostat of the vehicle which became defective. Had mine done that way. Comes out cheaper.;)
