Another Flat Towing Line of Questions...

No Go on Remco Here’s the latest turn of events. Called Remco, confirmed they no longer make the disconnect and got the name of the company in Iowa that they sold the rights to build it too. Called them got the model # needed for my FJ and name of a local driveshaft company they recommended...

Great pics and glad you were able to do a recovery! Just for the record - next time we go out, you go first and I'll follow.....

    Control in slippery mud

Sideways??? Since I was following you why could I see the grill of the 80? An outstanding job of keeping it on the trail!

after the FJ, next in line??

Yup, love the Sequoia for long highway trips but it's not for off road. Love the FJC for both highway and off road but there's not much rear seat room for a family.

    service at 5k or when?

I've also got a 10 but sure find the "Maint Reqd" idiot light distracting for the several months before the oil hits the next 10,000 point. Does anybody know how to manually reset that idot light?

    factory tow points

Yup, I'm also using a receiver-hitch-mounted shackle. Since I can't afford to change out the stock front bumper, I'm stuck with the welded rings for the next year or so.:frown:

    factory tow points

The 2010 still has the factory driver's side rear bolt on but to me it looks more like a shipping tie down rather than a true tow point. Those are hefty bolts but not sure they could take the full stress of really stuck FJ. If the bolts snap I'd hate to see that bracket rocketing back towards...

    Control in slippery mud

Thanks guys! My son in law pointed me to the Mud as the best place to learn about my new FJC and get new ideas for mods. It's amazing how much info is on here and what an interesting bunch of folks participate.

Thanks! It's amazing how much technology has changed driving in any condition.

    Control in slippery mud

Had my first real test of my new FJC capabilities in 8 inches of REALLY slippery Idaho mud. It seemed more in control using only the ATrak than it did with rear locker also on. Is that normal or just my inexperience with the FJ?

    100 + 80= Very Happy

Outstanding Way too cool  Looks like an outstanding find. Much better than what I've seen locally in CA Let's see - your 100, now an 80, and I'm bringing the FJ Cruiser, I wonder what we'll be doing over the Xmas break ;)

Looking at an 80 for dedicated trail riding

Thanks! Thanks for the advice! After my mechanic looked it over, decided to pass on this one. Too many contradictions: Reportedly garaged & not used much off-road but seats, paint, oil/dirt under engine show otherwise – supposedly “well maintained” but mismatched hoses, tires, & duct tape...
