    Removing passenger grab handle??

The big one on the dash. Has anyone done it and if so how easy / hard is it? I need to look at taking it off to slip a bracket over it. I've got a bracket that I'm going to use to hold up my new 10.4" LCD touchscreen for a GPS system but the bracket won't open up enough to slip over it so I need...

    I've got gas! (LPG installation)

When I got my 80 series converted to LPG, I was getting 45l/100kms which is way too high. I got it checked and had a balance pipe fitted that reduced the LPG useage to to 30l/100kms which isn't too bad since I run 285/75/16 M/T's, a 2 inch lift and heaps of extra weight (steel winch bar, winch...

    ultimate drawer storage system?

I'd build them in two helves so you can one half out if you need to carry some larger cargo. I've got a single drawer that is on the drivers side with the fridge on top.

    Swap sub and dash gauges?

I had LPG fitted to my 80 series a while ago and the fitter wired the LPG tank to the overhead sub gauge although I asked him to wire the LPG tank to the main tank gauge in the dash. Does anyone know how to swap the feed between the two gauges?

    Hand brake on 80 series

After 12 months of having a really useless handbrake, I bit the bullet and got it looked at. They replaced the shoes and adjusted it all up and now it works great. They said that the biggest mistake that people make, is that they adjust the cable (at the lever) as opposed to actually adjusting...

Fitting Rubber flares to an 80 series Landcruiser GXL

Has anyone put rubber flares and mud flaps on a 80 series GXL? I've now ripped one front fibreglass flare in half and now I've ripped off one rear moulded mud flap and the other is just hanging on. I was originally going to fix the ripped flare but now I've killed the rear moulded mud flaps I...

    BFG Mud terrain

I run 285/75/16 BFG M/T's as my everyday tyre and I'm pretty happy with them. No too bad on road and very good off road.

*Sigh* Alternative Fuel Sources? I guess not.

I just had my 4.5 petrol converted to LPG. A small drop in power but with a price difference of almost $1 a litre it is well worth it. I will pay off the conversion cost with the savings in 13 months and then it's all good.

are 80 oem recovery points ok for strap recovery?

I heard alot of stories about whether they were good enough or not so I made a couple of basic mods and put on proper recovery hooks. If I was going to keep the original loops I was going to take them off and get a couple of extra welds on them for piece of mind.

    80 series steering problem

Sorry, full lock might be an Australian expression. When I turn the steering wheel as far to the left or right that it will go (think U-turn) then the steering wheel moves a little bit further that the wheels. If I start with my steering wheel straight and do a right hand U-turn, when I've...

    80 series steering problem

G'day, I've recently picked up a 1993 GXL 80 series Landcruiser (Australia) and have noticed a problem with the steering. It seems that when I go full lock (either side) that the wheel turns further than the wheels. This means that my steering wheel is rarely straight. The wheel either leans...
