So I am doing a complete restore on a 1974 FJ40 and I am starting to fell like I bit of more than I could chew. The tub has been soda blasted on the outside panels and glass blasted on the underside where there was rust. I have been doing some body work and filling holes but don't really know...

The front cover was dented in and I never even noticed it so I had to take it back apart and pound the dent out a little.

I could loosen the bolts but then I have to redo the RTV The front cover is not removable It will not go in upside down as the axle housing is notched for the ring gear to slide in. Thanks for any help though

I didn't even put the axles in or anything yet.

So I yesterday I bolted my front differential back up to the axle housing and now the yoke doesn't want to turn freely. It felt fine before I bolted it up and torqued it down. What could be causing this? The only thing I can think of is since I used RTV instead of the paper gasket now the...
