    Suspension replacement on rusty 92

As you can see I'm a bit lazy. In my defense, I'm starting a new business. Getting back into it. First will be the rear end. Plan is to jack it up high and put jack stands under the frame, then take the wheels and stabilizer bar so rear axel will come down as far as possible to relieve...

    Suspension replacement on rusty 92

I bought a new Dobinson suspension kit - shocks, springs, steering stablizer. I know it's awefully rusty under there! So I want to start in the rear, take out most of the suspension, wire wheel most of the rust off, paint with Coroseal, then spray paint with probably rustoleum unless there is a...

Dobinsons to replace 18 year old OME 2-1/2" lift

I'm looking to source OEM control arm bushings - ALL bushings except the front control arm as I have the OME caster correction bushings. I've been googling all morning. I want rubber, not poly. CAN ANYONE RECOMMEND A SOURCE? I appreciate any help. Joe

For Sale  St. Louis, MO - 1999 Land Cruiser Rear Bumper cover

This is off my cousin's Land Cruiser. He pawned it off on me to get it out of his garage. Now I'm trying to get it out of my garage. Looked on-line and seems they're going for around $400. . . . So, $50 or best offer?

May be joining the FJ60 crowd

I was looking around the internet and found an FJ60 for $2,500. 207K on it, hasn't run in a couple of years but will run on starter fluid. First move will be to get it towed to a shop to go through the fuel system and get it running. I't RUSTY, but rust never bothered me. I have a rusty 1992...

Replacement springs and shocks for OME 2" lift?

Thanks Kurt, I may take you up on that. I'm figuring ALL poly bushings instead of rubber - longevity is important to me. I'll do some researh on "panhard" stuff. I only occasionally 4-wheel it climbing hils - fording rivers - driving up old dried up creeks. She did fine stock and does even...

Replacement springs and shocks for OME 2" lift?

I went ahead and got the whole Dobinson kit - springs, shocks, and steering stabilizer shock. I just put new tires on it and had the shop lift it up and give me a list of whatever else they think needs to be replaced. Here's what they said: Front sway bar links and frame bushings Tension rod...

Dobinsons to replace 18 year old OME 2-1/2" lift

The tires are 11 years old and suspension 18 years old. I'm FINALLY ready to pull the trigger and change out the suspension. I installed it myself but will be using a shop this time. Current OME kit said 2-1/2" lift and had the castor corrective bushings. A few years later I upgraded to 10.5 x...

Replacement springs and shocks for OME 2" lift?

What was the part number on the Dobinson shocks you used? Springs are rusting out and sagging. Look like "pears" instead of "cylinders" - middle spring coils are wider than top and bottom. I'll give Kurt a call, thanks!

First Time Owner of a Land Cruiser and new to Forum

Welcome. I've had my 92 for 23 years now (and it looks it). The 3FE is slow but dependable. I've done a BUNCH of work on her myself and plan on doing more. Current projects for 2023 are Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) delete, clean the interior (about 15 years overdue), reupholster front...

Replacement springs and shocks for OME 2" lift?

In January 2007 I put in a 2" lift kit from OME. I need to replace the springs and shocks. The caster corrective bushings are still good. I'd like to replace the steering stabilizer shock also. I found the reciept, but it doesn't give part numbers for the parts, just says "OMEKIT-80DH, OME...

    3FE fan blade clearance

"you can see from the picture just how destructive the damage was" WOW! I'm glad I put the new fan and clutch in. Trying to squeeze my hands in there with the belts and such is a HUGE pain, but worth it. The temp guage was always a little above half way which concerned me. It went there again...

    3FE fan blade clearance

    (2) studs stripped and (1) nut. Went to ACE hardware and got studs and nuts. They were just "threaded rod" type without the "stop" in the middle. so I wrapped a piece of thin wire around the stud where I wanted it to stop screwing in. Worked well! I put a cheap nut on one of the studs that I...
