No brake lights or hazards - where to start troubleshooting?

I did check the bulbs. The bulbs behind the red lens section on the tail lights are dual filament. Both filaments are good on both bulbs.

    HJ47 V-8 Conversion Motor Mounts

Hi. You may try to PM mud user "HJ47". I bought his 1984 HJ47 in late August. He had put in a 5.7l vortec (model L31 I think) a number of years ago. He may recall the setup. The Troopy is stored for winter about 160 miles away...otherwise I'd offer to take some pics. Damn Minnesota salt!

    That looks great!

Troopy (High Roof) Rear Seating Project...Opinions Needed!

More pics... I had to go with the arm rest 'skeleton'...too wide to fit with padding and the material was too grabby (like rubber) for the seats to recline. I'll dress that up later but at least it functions. I also bought a 3/4" rubber horse stall mat for less than $40 (got that tip from...

Troopy (High Roof) Rear Seating Project...Opinions Needed!

Glad you guys like it. I'm in West Bloomington by the way. Wanted to add a few more pics. My collector plate finally arrived! I bought a used bracket, but new lights/domes. Wired up nicely. The new rear step turned out great. We fabbed it off a standard Reese 5 1/4" drop hitch...

Considered that tuck/tumble, but with 59" floor to raised roof, just had to roll with the captains!

Troopy (High Roof) Rear Seating Project...Opinions Needed!

Those are my exact seats! They only flip forward about 45 degrees vs. fold flat. I really wanted the integrated seat belts so I went with belts vs. a fold flat seat with body mounted belts. The van seats do lift right out with a pull of the back release handle. With the jumps folded up, you...

Troopy (High Roof) Rear Seating Project...Opinions Needed!

New seats plan mounted!:cheers: Seating for 8! We worked all afternoon yesterday to complete the new plan. 2011 Sienna mini van seats with integrated seat belts, with base plastic cladding removed to fit between the well wheels. Seats recline and have flip up ottomans! BARELY...

Troopy (High Roof) Rear Seating Project...Opinions Needed!

Well, the seats went in...and the seats went out. We built the seat cage for option 3 (as mocked up with 2x4 with the seats high over the wheel wells). In the road test yesterday my wife rode around town in the high seats and she said she will getting sick (like a roller coaster) and being so...

1984 HJ47 Troopy Aussie spec...can someone confirm the jump seat bolt sizes?

Hi. Gathering hardware to mount some late 60's FJ40 long jump seats in rear section of my 1984 HJ47 Troopy Aussie spec...hopefully tomorrow! Some of the bolt holes have some paint and/or years of dried fish oil so they are not easy to test fit. I want to know the correct bolts and not force a...

cult45 I'm going with option 3 (captain seats mounted over the wells with jump seats behind them). Taking advantage of that 12" higher roof. I edited the thread title to "Build" now. I'll post pics as the build progresses.

cult45 Thanks for the input. I've got dual tanks that would make that impractical at least on the driver (right, of course!) side. The rig was restored about 10 yrs ago and only has about 20K miles on it since, rust free as well. I want to keep the rear bed as 'stock' as I can. Drill...

Troopy (High Roof) Rear Seating Project...Opinions Needed!

The #1 option for my two kids was to continue to lounge on the twin bed platform that the troopy originally had it . This whole seats project is upsetting to them.:crybaby:

Troopy (High Roof) Rear Seating Project...Opinions Needed!

I was hoping for slick! I bought a pair of FJ40 '63-'72 model long jump seats that should arrive Tuesday. The plan is to mount those jumps (facing inward of course) in the existing bolt holes if possible. Some of the original bolt holes were cut out during rust mitigation, so some mods will...
