well i bought a Powerstroke yesterday and was just thinking about what i could do to that truck with the money i have in the cruiser (read 6" lift and 35's on 20's) ....
it probably needs to belong to someone that will appreciate it more than i do anyway. All i do is drive it around town...
If i were to decide to sell my FJ, what would be a fair price to ask?
1976, brand new 38's, 383 Stroker, new clutch / pressure plate, front disc brakes, power steering, hard top, soft top, PTO winch. Runs great, rides great, hard to stop.
just got it back the other day... transmission from Cruiserparts.net, new clutch, press.plate, throw out bearing and resurfaced flywheel. Just picked up hard top yesterday.
got the transmission situation taken care of.. ordered a used one from Cruiserparts.net reasonably cheap and with free shipping. Now looking for nice, comfortable, sturdy aftermarket front bucket seats for my 40. Suggestions?
thanks
Transmission in worse shape than i thought. I need synchros and a main shaft. I have found several kits that have bearings and gaskets, and finally one with synchros from RockMountain Cruisers.. but now i need a main shaft. Anyone have one laying around, or know where i can get one?
thanks...
alan,
I have a question for you.
My 40 has a horrible knock when you let the clutch out and start to move forward. Lucas said his had the same problem, that it was common, and that you fixed it.
Do you know what im talking about by any chance?
the same guy that developed the all of the cliffs communities has purchased the property.
I live about 3 miles from there.
His son and i are friends, he had a nice 40 for a while, and we flipped it in tellico, then he sold it.
so yes, unfortunately it is no longer accessible.
Im near Clemson and have seen some of the upstate cruiser guys on here. I need to introduce myself.
Its going to be a while before i'll be joining them on any rides though, i just put mine in the shop to have the transmission rebuilt.
