That DNR clunk is likely from worn axle splines going into the hub flanges. Go under your truck and grab the outboard axle side and try to twist it back and forth, if it moves and make little clunk then that might be your issue.
He owes you an explanation for exactly WHY you need a new differential. What year is your 100, and what seems to be broken? Dunno, $3K seems awfully high to me. Some guys replace their front diff in the 100 with a locking unit like this...
I too use NAPA rebuilds and they have always worked well for me, but I have recently heard (maybe here on mud?) that there are two series for rebuilds and they've stopped producing the "better" one. If anyone has more info on this, please share...
If it is rusted, then get rebuilt or new calipers, else you can easily rebuild those. Use OEM seals and dust covers. Getting the dust cover is bit tricky, as there is no grove to hold the circlip, but keeping the mating surface (dust boot to...

It's probably your tilt and telescopic column motors that have failed. They're not to bad to change out.
Also, having a second person when fixing the antenna is very helpful. You just need an extra hand cycling the antenna up/down while you're...
Hi all,
I have recently become the proud owner of a 1999 Land Cruiser 4.2D. This is not only my first Land Cruiser, but the first 4x4 / SUV type vehicle I've ever owned. (Well, years back I had access to a Lexus RX400h and then an NX, they were...
I ran at 850g and based on the service manual guidance was a little under, so now running 900g. I need to recheck the performance with this new qty. Capped on the HP side at the Y fitting behind the bumper (machined a blank fitting) and LP side...
I hate cans. They never work because you'll almost always over charge if you aren't super careful. I do however work at a shop and have access to a professional AC machine where I can get the refrigerant down to the gram
From the spray pattern it looks more like axles that brakes I don't see how brake fluid would have exited the middle of the axle. If its gear oil, you should be able to smell it, that stuff is pretty distinctive. Probably feel it, too, as it's...
Their entire e-commerce platform is f'd up tonight. All the SE dealers. I was able to get an order confirmation after several attempts and clearing my cookies/cache, but unable to add anything to the cart beyond what I put in a few days ago. When...
Hey everyone. Just joined the forum and wanted to say hi and share my rig. I drive a 98 Lexus LX470. I bought it from my dad (a long time member on this forum, TLC Dan). Basically how that came to be was I had a very clean 4th Gen 4runner V8 that...
Hmm I wonder if more frequent oil changes may help. 3k miles or 6 months whatever comes first. Plus 5w-30 maybe try? Also try Toyota oem air filter in case you got after market and maybe premium gas 91 or higher octane for several fill ups or so...
wow man, this is cool, im glad you're enjoying the thread! this is 140-150 hours in 30 days and its super nice to get some feedback like this. thanks man :D
My first though/concern: Stain and fluid appearance in brake reservoir. I can not, see reservoir well in your pictures. Nor can I tell if dirt cleaned off outside of reservoir, revealing inside appearance. But if reservoir stained inside, it is...
