I use one of these from Sonax on my cars and couch. It works much better than I dared to hope, it even gets those stiff Boxer hairs that penetrate and weave into the fabric.

We have a Furminator that I use on my Rottweiler and its great. I Furminate before bathing and it cuts down on ALOT of hair in the drain. We were taking care of a long haired German Sheperd for half a year and that Furminator saved my sanity.
