Thanks for the help guys. I guess there’s no benefit in keeping this. Maybe I’ll take it out and see if there are any big changes and then replace it with a new one if the smell is annoying.
I admittedly don’t know much about catalytic converters. I’m wondering if I would benefit from removing mine. Here’s the details.
1984 fj60 with desmogged 2f. Runs well. Has original cat. I’m not sure that it’s working or not. (I do know that at one point the whole thing was bright orange it...
I have a FWC Hawk. Sticker on it says 750 lbs, but it has some extra options. Likely around 1000 lbs loaded. Originally just put timbrens on and it worked great. Just recently added some progressive springs, after adding new Bilstein shocks and it handles very well.

You’ll have it running, but you need to put in some time...
I guess I can swap the sides. I just find it hard to believe that a pothole could cause two inches of bent leaf springs. I don’t remember ever hitting one... but definitely possible.

Guess I'll try a new cap and a new OEM pump and see if that does the trick. I'm so close to getting this running reliably, but it seems just out of reach!
Yes. At first I thought it was pressure building up in the tank or something like that. I tried to run without the gas cap. I also tried to running without the lines to the charcoal canister disconnected too. It didn't make a difference though.
