As you can see above the PO started painting the front half with Krylon and stopped at the front doors. The worst rust is at the front fenders and bottom front panel. There is a rusted through hole about the size of your pinky below the drivers floor . The back fenders look surprisingly good...
I have a 1985 FJ60 for sale with only 147,000 miles. It runs great. Last year I replaced the radiator, hoses, water pump, clutch slave and master cylinders, exhaust from cat back and oil pan gasket. Passes Colorado emissions. The interior is in great condition, unfortunately the exterior...
It is cold today and when I started the FJ62 I was greeted by a lot of noise. There is power steering fluid spread around and the fluid in the reservoir looks like foamy chocolate milk. My son just drove it home from college (about 150 miles) and said there was no problem. I have read some of...
I got the JT Outfitters carpet for the rear and tail gate on my FJ62. Ditto on the time it took. They told me they are constructed when they get an order so it takes a while. I was real happy with the fit for the cargo area, however the tail gate carpet was too short. I ended up cutting a...
Ditto on everything Mike said. There is not a short cut to removing the radiator. You are going to have to move the AC heat exchanger out of the way also. I have purchased two Performance Radiators and have been very pleased. They are pricey though. Nice looking truck, it is worth the effort.
I picked up an FJ60 that had been in storage for awhile. The PO used it mainly for hauling his boat to the lake. After freeing a stuck RR brake and bell crank I bled the brakes; three times unsuccessfully. There is no LSPV. I assume the FJ60's had these gizmos?
Got the carb off and isolater plate and lo and behold, the manifold nut left of the carb was almost backed all the way off. The nut right of the carb was extremely loose. I guess I found the vacuum leak. The exhaust smell in the cabin is because the tail pipe has rusted off just short of the...
Friday I bought an FJ60 with the same problem. It has been a while since I had to use my right foot for both brake and throttle to get it to the garage. I am suspecting it is the manifold as I am smelling exhaust fumes in the cabin and there is an audible sucking sound. The PO says it was...
