You’re correct, these have the flare and pressed on washers, I couldn’t wait to get the wheels on as I lost 2 tyres to sharp rocks last week and they were losing air overnight. I’ve ordered a set for the 79 series they’ll be here any day now
Someone who works in the shopping centre always parks the black one in the farthest corner to prevent door dings, Chevy guy has the same idea being wider than the average car here
FZJ100 is a thing in UAE, the FZJ105 is in Australia and a few other countries. Had a lot more of a raw feel to it than the 100 series, which is more like a car with extra body roll.
Nice work, great family cars that can go a lot of places. My wife drove our latest 100 for the first time and said it's just as easy as driving her Subaru Forester. When that inevitably comes to it's demise I'm going to try and steer her into a top spec 100
Turned this 1998 model into a 2006 model
1998 FZJ105
2006 UZJ100
She's no spring chicken, around 386k KM or 240k miles on her, one owner and runs on BBQ fuel
My driving style with the 35s on is taking its toll on the old solid front axle. It's been raining daily for the last month here, trails are slick, everything is taking more loud pedal, found a boulder in a bog hole on rev limiter in 2nd low
Last time I tore the whole mount off on the left...
Petrols can do some water, just gotta take it smoothly, no big splashes. the one in the video is a 3f
The 105 1fz changed from distributor to coil on plug, these can handle water much better.
After procrastinating for 2 months I finally got the clutch done in my Ferd Ranger daily, so the Cruiser has been demoted to weekend duty again.
Got the 35s back on, giving everything a tidy up inside and out, a lot has fallen off or gotten scratched in the last few months
Found the reason why my front left shock rubbers kept failing monthly, saw this while checking radius arm bushes. I remember the jump that tore it, it was enough to completely collapse the Rancho 9000 shock that used to be in there. I've had this baby singin on the highway, 160km/h no probs 🤣
For anyone who watches Mighty Car Mods on youtube, this is the Belmont/Redhead beach they got their Suzuki Jimny and Daihatsu kei trucks stuck on. Notoriously soft, but I saw a new Rav 4 doing it no problems yesterday
My 105 did the exact thing, no sign of bad or worn brakes until the grinding started all of a sudden. Rears are easy on these, front rotors took a bit of man power and heat. Give your handbrake a couple of turns while the wheels are off too!
Wouldn't recommend doing this to a cruiser in good condition, this one has had really bad rear end damage with pretty bad panel work and paint, I've found rust in the roof, so I was happy to cut and weld wherever was necessary.
Fossil fuel cars will be banned before we know it, so I'm not...
The final pieces to the puzzle turned up on a Friday of all days, so I dare say this weekend I'll be fitting this 80 spare tire carrier that I found dumped in the forest. I lifted the stock mount up 60mm to clear a 35" spare and relocated bolt holes from 6 to 5 stud, tacked a reinforcment plate...
