    Detroit Locker Option

    IF you are going to go with a Detroit locker, you are going to need to order a rebuild kit as well, it will have all the shims and bearings you need. as for the 30 spline axles: I think they changed over to 30 spline in 75 but I'm not 100% on that. Are you going to be pulling the 3rd member...

    the cowling was in pretty rough shape, the only item on the rolling chassis i intend on keeping was the frame and some mounts, we kept that axles and some basic running gear on there to make it easier to move. After sand blasting the frame was repaired as well as the cowling.

    as for the 2F , it ran pretty good, it drove in to the shop under its own power just fine.

    I'm going to try and post the build in the order we did it but it might not be perfect. after removing the tub, we got to inspect the frame a little bit better than before. We discovered it was going to need some work... good excuse to buy a welder....

    This is our first fj40 build, let me know what you think. So it begins... This is when we first got it in, I traded my 98 4 runner for it, tho it might seem like I took 3 steps backwards, it ended up being a great learning experience. As you can tell the PO had no respect for the 40 what so...

    5.29 gears ad Detroit locker

    I would recommend grinding the gear before the locker pin, I have 5.29s in my 40 and i had to take a lot off of the ring gear so i feel your pain. I'm surprised no one has came up with a better way to do this " short of a full floater".

    PTO Identification HELP.

    it looks like it will bolt up to the side of the 4 speed transmission. I don't think that of them have the spot for it. got a 77 with out a plat on the side and a 75 with it. But the bolt pattern on you PTO looks like it would match the transmission access plate.

    what mini truck drive shafts "if there are any" will work in a lifted 40? I am hoping to make use of on that has double U-joints.

    Axle info?

    I hear all the time that a full floater and much better than a semi-floater. I'm curious if any one has had any major failures with semi- floaters?

    MAF U-Bolt flip kit?

    Do you have any pictures of the front axle? I'm curious about the u-bolts closest to the diff, dose the kit accommodate this or is there a mod required?

    Any one use the MAF U-bolt flip kit? how did you like it? any issues? I am debating whether or not to buy a kit for the front and rear of my 75... any input would be great. :hhmm:
