Fixed the fuel leak & high idle (choke cable is frozen). Gear shift was frozen - had to tap on the linkage a bit & some penetrating oil. But the right front wheel is frozen. It will roll forward grudgingly, but backward not at all. So when I went to back it in to my upper drive way, I ended up...

Ancient thread revival! Started the FJ40 for the first time since about 2012. Some fresh gas, a little starting fluid and it fired right up! The idle is to fast for some reason, and there's a fuel line dripping on the manifold, so I didn't run it long. Hoping to finally start working on this...

Well, it happened in traffic today - stalled at a light and wouldn't start. I picked up one of these the other day And it worked great. Swapped it for the relay, flipped the switch and it started and ran the rest of the way to work. Only had one horn blown at me, lol. Gave him the mud salute...

I did have it out. Looks ok, contacts and the crimp connections to the wires seem solid as far as I could see. Poked and pried at em with a probe. As far as I can tell the signal side is one wire straight to the big ECM connector. I couldn't trace the ground side. I haven't pulled the ECM...

The problem is that the relay isn't closing. When the relay closes, it works fine.

I think it has to be on the signal or ground sides of the relay, because when it fails the relay doesn't activate. Certainly can't be the fuse since it's working now and I haven't changed the fuse.

Ok, I see. If that were the case then it would catch - on the priming fuel - but not continue running, right? I don't get that. And it never stops while running & no codes.

It's this one - ignore the bracket. Comes already integrated on the PSI harness with the signal and ground connections made. You have to make the power & pump connections. The fuel pump relay is the one on the left.

Yes, cranks fine but no start. I've never been able to hear the fuel pump. Bad ears I guess. How would the ECM not seeing the cam & crank signals cause it not to prime the pump? It shouldn't see anything there until it's cranking, right? Similar on the fuel filter - I can see it causing other...

Ok, looking for some help with my fuel pump relay. Background - 2007 Gen3 5.3L mostly stock. I used a PSI Conversions harness on it, which has the fuel pump relay already set up. I completed the swap in 2021, and have about 20K miles on it. It's been great. Last fall I had a no-start problem...

Cool - where do I find it? I've never been happy with what I put together.
