I've changed my mind. This thread more than explains everything I need to know to do the job and I'm sold on the tan Al's Liner. That tan 80 look's absolutely amazing!
Raptor liner, I think I'm sold on this product after looking into it and I'm seriously thinking about not stopping at the window sills and doing the whole 80 black. I'm not to crazy about the factory green anyways and have always hoped to paint it flat black one day so black raptor with it's...
Alright, I'll have to do some calling around but I like what I'm reading about Speedliner so long as the cost isn't over the top. Any thoughts on wrapping the back or photo's of a similar project?
I've decided after scarring the clear coat repeatably on the lower half of my 80 and a rouge limb that did a little more damage to my rear passenger door, that it's time to give the oem paint a layer of armor from the window's on down. Does anyone have a preference between Rhino and Line-X? I'm...
I'll definitely get a replacement solenoid for the price and what I thought was just the sound of some vavles in need of a good tune is probably the dieseling side affect of my hack job patch. That and I ripped any piece of IM nightmare that I thought was useless off when I just did the manifold...
I went ahead and chopped the business end of the fuel cut solenoid off and made a plug out of the rest since it's toast and wouldn't ya know the ol' 2f is idling under 1200 rpms with out the choke for the first time in 2 years!! I have idle set around upper 600 and it's still a little rough but...
I'm in the process of bringing the 2f in my 85 back to health after submerging the vehicle in a river and leaving it overnight until help could arrive. After draining numerous gallons of water out of every mechanical system and adding fresh fluids I made the 20 miles back to my place with no...
I'm not going to name names, let's just say it was a large chain store. Yesterday they pressed in the new caster bushings correctly and now the problem is resolved. On the ride home it handled much like before the lift and I'm now satisfied that any change in the road won't send me darting into...
After talking with the store manager and the mechanic who did the install it boils down to human error. They had the instructions I had printed off from the slee website and the OME intructions that were provided with the bushings so it wasn't a matter of not knowing how to install them...
Thursday the shop agreed to install new bushings and do an alignment for free after. I'll let you know how it turns out as new vibrations while turning have developed and I'm worried that driving it the way it is now is damaging the drivetrain.
Just got off the phone with the shop that did the install and they want me to come in and they'll press out the caster bushings and reinstall them correctly but i was advised by Slee that new bushings would need to be ordered. Is this because they are pressed in and will be loose if...
Just got off the phone with the helpful fellows of Slee Off-Road and yes, the caster bushings are installed wrong. Thanks to whoever it was that I talked to at Slee and I look forward to putting the Heavy springs to good use by purchasing one of your rear bumpers:cheers:.
Yesterday the 2.5 heavy OME suspension was installed on my 95FZJ80 by a local shop for a very reasonable price. The 45 minute ride home on the interstate in the rain at night was a white knuckle drive. The steering is now light and the vehichle is prone to overreact to changes in the road...
Well the oil is leaking out of the seap hole for the trans bellhousing and when I removed the rubber inspection cover and stuck my finger in the bellhousing it came out with oil on it:meh:. I wish it was the oil pan gasket.
I'm not sure when the last tune-up was but I'm going to contact the PO and ask him why the F*** he failed to mention the rear main seal leaks oil, it's not leaking that bad but it could become something very expensive. He had to have known because when I purchased the vehicle the bottom of the...
