I've been trouble shooting my heater and ended up changing the AC Amplifier, when I do the self-diagnostics I'm getting Rear Defrost and Rear heat buttons blinking. Just a quick follow up, it was a bad AC Amplifier. I had purchased a used temperature control complete with bezel etc. However the one that arrived was in poor shape. I took the circuit board and swapped them. Problem solved, back up and running with Heat and AC :)

Thanks for the link, I'm thinking that the head unit not being able to do self-diagnostics test is a bad sign. There is power to the unit as one of the lights is on, it will not move with the selector switch just sits there with it's green reflection mocking me :) How long do you need to hold...
