I have the sm465 in my 40, I love it (Ihad one in a 72 chevy 1ton years ago also) yes it shifts like a HD truck trany and is a long throw but that is part of its charm after all its not a sports car you driving its a 4wd off road truck, it should feel like one.

I've had good luck with clasic cruisers in CO.

Thanks for the info, the break drums I think are also Chevy because there is a parking brake on each side, no cable is hooked up also no lever in the cab, when I pull on each lever the feel like they work so I am going to try to rig up a lever in the cab for them(I'm not worried about keeping it...

Thanks for the help, It does not have the orig rear axel in it so it lines up perfect, my next post is to try to figure out just what axel is in it. PO did not know. after that its putting in a parking break every now and then I wish I had one?
