The ratio is fixed but the assist level is not. I don't know whether assist is determined by vacuum or a speed sensor, though, but check into that. I have an 02, the steering effort is finger light even at a dead stop. Too light, if you ask me.

The NATO setup is cool, but what's the point? The normal US setup is good for at least the rated towing capacity, and I really can't imagine towing anything heavier than 3ish tons with this thing anyway.

In running the Bosch DistancePlus. Haven't seen specs on the OEM filtration quality but the BoschDP filter is pretty stellar both for filtration quality and the total contaminant amount it can contain before hindering flow.

AHC is the hydraulic adjustable suspension. It was standard equipment on all LX470s. However, some people replace it with coils when it breaks so it's not always functional.

Yeah, I was initially thinking O2 may be failing. I'd be very happy with 17 @ 80. 14 @ 70, on the other hand, is pretty disappointing.

Disappointing. I was really hoping for 16-18 on straight 100% freeway tanks. Oh well, c'est la vie.

Thanks guys. I should've mentioned I took it my local Lexus dealer to get an official bill of health and to check on the noise. I did have them grease it which didn't change anything. They, of course, wanted to replace the drive shaft. I don't have a relationship with any Japanese indies yet...

Finally got off my rear and am bringing the new LX up to snuff. Oil change with Mobil1 10-30 and a Bosch Distance Plus filter. Purchased the lifetime alignment at Firestone and had them fix my goofy front toe Picked up some AHC fluid, full flush is on my list to do as soon as we get back...
