8 speed transmission. How do you like it?

Thanks all. The hesitation when you come to a near stop and then get going again worries me the most as that bucking sensation is terrible on my RX. Makes me miss the smooth 4 speed in my 20 year old 4runner. Our previous gen RX with the 6 speed was perfect too.

8 speed transmission. How do you like it?

I’ve got it in one of our cars (aisin 8), a rx350, and it’s terrible. Constantly trying to upshift for mpg and coming off the line is the worst, jerking up and down gears. Many tsbs have come and gone for this surging and hesitation but it still stinks. I’ve heard that 2018 LC is better than...

2nd row (middle) foot room under front seats. Does it both you?

Yup but you lose the precious space in the third row or cargo space.

2nd row (middle) foot room under front seats. Does it both you?

Howdy. In the market for a 200 series and have always found the middle row foot room to be really tight under the front seat. You can raise the front seats to the max and get a little room for middle seat passengers to slide under the front seats but it’s still snug. This makes the middle seats...

    8 speed shifting experience?

Ah just read about the tsb. Sounds the same as the Lexus but better results on the LC. it looks like 2017 was included in the tsb so perhaps 2018 was the first year the software was updated from the factory.

    8 speed shifting experience?

How do you all like it? More specifically wondering from 2016 owners as I have experience with the 8 speed in the Lexus that year and it was terrible trying to always upshift to get beat miles per gallon. Ok on the freeway but around town just regular easy acceleration driving was the worst. I...

Soft open lower tailgate for LC

Is this a more simple bolt on for the 2016 and 2017? Or the same process ore frefresh?

How did you score the HE wheels? I understand Toyota won’t sell em without a VIN?

Buying 16-18 200 series. Starter motor concerns

got it. What the typical costs to do the water pump and radiator job? I gather that just the starter alone is about. 1000-1500 job. Relevant because I see some closer to 100 or over that haven’t had this work done.

Buying 16-18 200 series. Starter motor concerns

I’ve been reading as much as I can find here but it’s still unclear if/when the starter motor was updated to where people are less concerned at the 100k+ range.Thinking it would be worth spending more on a 18 than 16 if the starter has been updated since. Better would be that the refresh in 16...
