Bolt on 80 Series Tire Carrier Compatible with Factory Bumper

If anybody is sad that the Land Cruiser hatch emblem is now hidden, the FJ60 rear quarter panel badge came out really nice. There's a couple guys on ebay selling these badges with adhesive backing. OR if you want to use your own adhesive, you can get them even cheaper on Amazon.

Bolt on 80 Series Tire Carrier Compatible with Factory Bumper

Yes, my non-OEM receiver had spacers between the receiver and the frame. For some reason, EACH BOLT has it's own spacer on mine. My spacers were 3/8", whereas the GGM spindle attachment is 1/4". So I had to make up an extra 1/8". I used washers. In your case, since you have no spacers at all...

Bolt on 80 Series Tire Carrier Compatible with Factory Bumper

I gave this a lot of thought, but ultimately settled on DS due to visibility. Time will tell if that was the right move, but with 24 hours of having this installed, I am so far happy that I went with DS for parallel parking purposes here in the city. Lifting my factory alloy rims with a 255/85...

    GGM Bolt-on Tire Carrier Installed!

I wanted to post some pictures and observations of my GGM tire carrier install I completed this weekend. Original thread below in the Vendors' section if you haven't seen this new product yet. This is the first step to someday installing a sub-tank...

Bolt on 80 Series Tire Carrier Compatible with Factory Bumper

Attached is a pic...I posted a more thorough review in the 80 series forum. This was pretty straightforward and looks great! I was able to confirm it works with my non-factory hitch which is a bonus! https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/ggm-bolt-on-tire-carrier-installed.1301047/

ARCHIVE Wits' End York On-Board-Air Schematic and Discussion

These posts revivals are timely because I've had the parts for some time, but finally am getting around to installing. I've been working on this after work every day for the past week, and it's coming together. JJdeneen918, I didn't want to drill my air filter inlet either until I'm happy with...

ARCHIVE Bringing back the York OBA bracket and pulley kit!

FYI This may be the seller that remans them, but for Wits End kit you'll want the 2-groove clutch.

    Warn M8000 Solenoid Box Help

Thanks - yes, I purchased the winch last year, so it is the new 5-pin connector. While pulling somebody out this winter, I noticed that the winch was cutting in and out while spooling in. For the remote to work, I have to almost hold the plug against the solenoid box. At first I thought it...

    Warn M8000 Solenoid Box Help

Can someone tell me what's going on here? I'd been having trouble with my winch/remote operating, and on further inspection noticed one of the pins on the solenoid box is deeper than the rest. See the pic below - the 'female' pin on the bottom of the picture is sunken deeper than the others...

Trip Report: Dalton Highway in an 80, Plus Introduction

For most of the pics you see me in, I was alone and I used my tripod. On the latter part of the trip (after the Dalton), my dad and a family friend flew up and met me for the ride home. You can see them in some of the pictures toward the end. We certainly used three drivers to our advantage...

Trip Report: Dalton Highway in an 80, Plus Introduction

I'll tackle these questions together. TrickyT, you are right. I may have been a bit dramatic. Although I feel like I abused the truck, I know this is exactly what they are designed for. It was a very problem-free trip. My radiator cracked a year ago, so I replaced it with an OEM unit. I did...

Trip Report: Dalton Highway in an 80, Plus Introduction

As a Mechanical HVAC Engineer, one thing that struck me on the trip was how little air conditioning the various pump stations and industrial facilities have, compared to what I am used to. And at 84 deg ambient, I'm sure some of the substation and switchgear rooms were getting quite marginal...

Trip Report: Dalton Highway in an 80, Plus Introduction

I crossed over Logan Pass on Saturday, June 25th around 8:30am. When were you there? It was snowing that morning and very foggy. As we say in our local club, Copper State Cruisers, the white 80 is standard equipment so it wouldn't be a stretch if it was somebody else. I knew that going in...

    Trip Report: Arizona to Alaska

Hi everyone...for those of you who don't participate in the 80 Series forum, I wanted to link my trip report. In June, I drove my Land Cruiser from Arizona up to Alaska and back. I've enjoyed being a part of Copper State Cruisers and met some of you at the meetups, most recently at Camelback...
