For Sale  Greensboro, NC - High Steer Kit FJ60 (62?, etc?)

The assembly came with a project FJ60 I bought a few years ago. The rig was in the process of being converted to SOA when I bought it. I'm going a different route, therefore I do not need the high steer parts. This could be either Trail Gear or Marlin Crawler. Once I figure out the brand, I'll...

bottom one. I guess it could have been modified by the previous owner who was working on setting this thing up for SOA. At this point I'll take the driveshaft out and get a proper measurement in order to see how it compares to stock, unmodified early 60 driveshafts.

Would anyone be able to get me a reference measurement between the front shackle bolt (center) to the rear (front spring) pin center? I'm getting rougly 42.75". Need to get a CM tape measure. Just measuring things currently to make sure everything's even. Thanks in advance!

This is somewhat confusing since pre '85 drive shafts seem to be around 25", and post (single cardon) are around 27"ish. The one I have is roughly 24.75", which makes me believe it's the original one. But somehow it's seems to be too long for the application. reference post: Can someone tell me...

I'm not exactly sure - every step of this project is a learning experience. How can I identify it as such?

So I'm running into an issue, trying to align the front drive shaft to the front diff. Since my rig is somewhat of a Frankenstein's monster, the parts I'm using are from various donors. The front springs I believe are original. The diff housing/pumpkin is from an FJ62 (year unknown). The front...

Here we go! Onto the FJ60 bandwaggon. Dsalni Build.

So it's been a year since the last update. Life had thrown a few surprises my way - some good, some pretty devastating. But, I'm still trying to make progress, even though it's at a snail's pace. During the year, I managed to find the correct front leaf spring brackets/hangers, FJ62...

    Coolant pool under intake manifold

I'm also noticing that some liquid gasket is being squeezed out from between the water pump housing and the block. I know the FSM calls for a gasket, without and additional silicone or FIPG. How common or "OK" is it to use liquid gasket between the water pump and the block? Is it a huge red...

    Coolant pool under intake manifold

Hello folks. Been experiencing variou coolant leak issues after having my timing belt changed a few hundred miles ago in December. Almost immediately after I picked up the cruiser after the timing belt/water pump job, I noticed a consistent leak under the rig. Turned out that the water inlet...

Thanks, will read through that one. Well, I can confirm that an after market AMP does get rid of the hiss / hum / static. I went with the same amp that @SandSandwhich used in his set up. I'm a bit slow when it comes to anything electrical, so I wasn't able to figure out the sub wiring. There...

@SandSandwhich finally getting around to this. I might be over thinking this and getting over-whelmed, but got the front two speakers to work. Are there a total of 4 wires for the sub? Did you use channel 5 for it?
