Yes, I've searched the forums already. I need to replace the oil seal at the pinon flange on the rear differential of my '76. Looking at the FSM, it looks like if I drop the shaft and remove the bolt, I can pull the flange off and maybe pull out the seal without having to break into the diff...

Well... seems to have been related to an earlier idle adjustment/vacum leak issue ( https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=99757 ) Leaks fixed and carb adjusted all nice and pretty, and bam...no more coolant temp changes. Guess I should fix one problem at a time.
