This is a tip on the process I used:
It was already a pain removing all the hog rings binding the seat cushion to the cover; I knew it was going to be a wrestling match trying to refit hog rings at every position. So I opted to use zip-ties and it went really well! As you can see, I installed...
I ended up going with LeatherSeats.com - a bit more than the off-shore guys but really pleased with the quality and the fit.
I upgraded to the Ecstacy Leather and Peforated inserts. I only did the fronts, the middle and rear are near perfect and the colour match is already almost identical. In...
There are a few you-tube videos on that - I think first step is to get a code scan and see which specific component of the SRS is triggering the alarm.
If you don't have your own reader, places like AutoZone will actually do a free scan for you.
Sorry, mine is a '99 and has no seat airbag - hopefully someone else will read, but you may be better to post a specific thread with your question.
However note that SRS is SUPPLEMENTAL Restraint System, not specific to 'Seat'
So in my eagerness to get going on my seat re-cover I failed to take a pic of the wiring layout under the seat - I'm actually an electrical guy and got cocky.
Now it's doing my head in because I can't figure out the configuration (unless I have some other cables trapped/hidden I can't see...
Yes, I think it's the airbags - from what I can see the pre-configured package is not any cheaper than if you just 'created' with same options.
So if any doubt just create it custom which also gives the ability to change up some elements
It might have some impact on lead-time ......
I just got this from LeatherSeats.com to illustrate the difference in the grain pattern between Ecstasy and Std leather hides
The agent also said the Ecstasy has a 'softer/suppler' feel.
(Note that I did not get the Ecstasy sample first-hand - getting ready to order and did not want to wait...
Got my samples from LeatherSeats.com along with answers to a few of my questions.
One question I had was if the back panels were included (particularly with regard to the middle row seats) - and confirmed they are.
It looks like 'Ivory' in the Std Leather appears to be a close match to the Lexus...
I got a similar reply to similar question about a year ago - I didn't take it as rude/snide however, just stating that their prices were already low (competitive) - which they are - and like yours, that they did not typically offer sales. It depends how you want to read that I suppose, you can...
Finally got some time to get around to this - way overdue!
Lots of good information in this thread - looks like there are some 'OK' value options, but for quality and fit looks like Ridies or LeatherSeats.com
I have used LeatherSeats.com before, on my NSX and I was quite pleased with them.
(So...
So I found the problem - dial indicated both sides and they were within 0.002"; I did check the wheel for play before I took it off however and could feel a little bit of movement in that on the Driver's side. Pulled the outer bearing and saw the cage had a fracture. I pulled the hub and...
@2001LC - this is best article I have seen in regard of this problem. I have been chasing mine for several years now, to point I drive it only when I have to.
I have replaced EVERYTHING - and beginning to think there might be some rotor to hub misalignment when I last replaced the rotors. So I'm...
@Ridies - do you have any pics of covers with perforated inserts?
I will be requesting samples, but what would you say is closest match to the Lexus Factory 'Tan' colour, code LF40
Thank you also -
If control arm bushings, wouldn't you feel this other than braking?
And I would be able to check/feel that just by getting wheel off ground and trying to rock wheel?
When going quite slow and with gentle pressure you can feel it gripping/releasing which is what was leading me...
