What parts do I need to replace? It seems like the whole master assembly would cost me the same as the whole vehicle is worth so I'm hoping only a smaller part is needed to replace...

Is it difficult to replace the brake master? It seems very hard to find a replacement of the whole assembly. Is there an easier fix where I don't have to replace the whole module?

Fortunately there is little rust underneath and on the frame so far. And the car is (touch wood) still performing well mechanically. It's a 1999 and doesn't have too many miles on it (about 170k km). The only rust I have found is the surface rust.

The windshield has been replaced several times (at least 3 during) due to cracks from stones flying into it from the road.
